Regeneris Consulting has evaluated the early roll-out of Digital Region. This is an ambitious £80m project to bring Fibre To The Cabinet to around 600,000 homes and businesses across South Yorkshire.
Our initial evaluation has looked at the design and early delivery of the scheme. We have explored the potential economic impact on end-users, reviewed the market failure rationale for public sector investment and generated a series of case study insights from similar schemes across Europe & the US. The team has reviewed the public-private partnership delivery model and assessed progress towards a commercially and operationally sustainable footing.
Our recommendations on the roll-out of Digital Region have contributed to a major re-design of the service which is now being pushed forward. Our review future progress against milestones, and determined the final impact and value for money of the initiative. Our support is configured to help the Digital Region team and investors make the best use of the resources and understand the challenges before them.
