Carnedd Wen Wind Farm
The proposed Carnedd Wen wind farm and habitat management project consists of a 50 turbine wind farm. It is coupled with significant habitat improvement works including the felling of approximately 1450 hectares of coniferous forest and the restoration of 400 hectares of peatland.
Regeneris Consulting worked closely with RWE Npower Renewables to robustly assess the economic, social and community benefits of the proposed wind farm and habitat restoration. The assessment focused on the local communities surrounding the wind farm as well as North/Mid Wales and Wales as a whole. It explored the scope to maximise the supply chain benefits to firms in Wales, as well as the community benefits of the Community Benefits Fund which RWE is proposing to put in place.
