Modernising MOSI Advice
Manchester’s Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) is one of the UK’s leading museums of industrial heritage. As such, it attracts nearly half a million visitors from throughout the North West and further afield. In 2008 MOSI developed an exciting £50m vision to radically update the visitor experience. The proposals would see much improved the integration with the surrounding Castlefield area, creating a major tourist and visitor hub.
We have worked with MOSI over the past four years, providing strategic economic development advice. A key part of this support has focused on making the case for grant funding, including market analysis, economic impact assessment and funding applications.
MOSI achieved the first part of its ambitious plans in 2010 when it received £2m ERDF grant to complete the funding package for the £9m first phase. The refurbishment of the main building has now been completed, providing greatly improved visitor entrance, orientation and gallery facilities.
MOSI are now gearing up for the next phase.
Strategic economic development and funding advice to help MOSI turn their aspirations into new galleries and visitor facilities.
