MRF Evaluation Review

MRF Evaluation Review

The Mayor’s Regeneration Fund (MRF) was created in response to the civil disturbances in London in summer 2011. At an early stage we were asked to review the process, rationale and early interventions, to better understand its potential impact.

The fund was used to deliver a wide range of projects across several boroughs (including Croydon, Tottenham, Hackney and Southwark) which included public realm and place-making, transport infrastructure, employment projects and business support. This complex mix of projects meant that a broad range of methods were used to understand the current and future impacts of the programme.

Our recommendations guided the GLA’s future allocation of funds, and helped London boroughs to more accurately monitor impact of the programme in their area.

An early review of the Mayor’s post riot spending and designing an approach to track future impact.
