The Designer Fashion Project programme aimed to provide business support to emerging designers in the UK capital and raise the profile of London Fashion Week in international markets. We were commissioned to carry out an IEF compliant evaluation of the £4.2m LDA funded programme.
We carried out extensive research including attendance at London Fashion Week to speak with fashion designers and exhibitors. A telephone survey of beneficiaries was also carried out to assess the economic impact of the programme in terms of jobs, turnover, profit and GVA. Detailed discussions were held with stakeholders, funders and partners to assess the Strategic Added Value (SAV) of the programme.
The evaluation was used to inform the funding decisions of the LDA and other partners. The programme continues to be supported by the Greater London Authority (which has taken on LDA responsibilities).
