Fort Halstead Case Making

Fort Halstead Case Making

Fort Halstead in Kent has historically been the location of a DSTL (Ministry of Defence) research facility. In recent years DSTL has announced relocation plans for the facility and has started to demolish redundant buildings on the site, leaving QinetiQ as the sole future tenant of the tenant.

As part of a wider team led by CBRE, Regeneris Consulting played a key role in developing proposals for the future of the Fort Halstead site on behalf of the site owners. This included research into the market for new employment opportunities in the area, demonstrating the benefits of a new residential community on the site and assessing the impacts this would have on local health and education provision.  We also supported the wider project team at the Examination in Public on the Council’s Allocations and Development Management Plan.

Most recently our research and recommendations have been used to inform the forthcoming mixed–use planning application for the redevelopment using QinetiQ as the anchor commercial tenant

Economic evidence to support the case for a new residential led mixed-use community
