Knowledge Transfer P/ships
We were appointed to undertake a full review of the Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) programme for the Technology Strategy Board (TSB). KTPs bring together a business, a university or FE college and a recent graduate into a formal partnership which is part funded with public money. The aim is to use academic knowledge to boost business competitiveness and drive economic development goals.
Our work was commissioned to assess the design and performance of the programme and identify ways in which its effectiveness and cost-efficiency might be improved. It involved extensive field research with stakeholders and programme participants.
We developed a series of structured proposals to deliver more KTPs and enhance the effectiveness of each partnership. Our recommendations have been used by TSB to focus the programme more closely on the types of partnership which our evaluation found to generate the greatest impacts.
