Economic Contribution of TFL
Transport for London (TfL) manages most public transport in the capital as well as its major roads. It spends several billion pounds every year on UK suppliers in the course of the delivery of capital programmes and to support ongoing activities.
We assessed the full economic impacts of TfL’s operations on the UK and each of its 12 regions and nations. This included using our in-house input-output model to assess the direct, indirect and induced impacts of its multi-billion procurement programme, much of which benefits locations outside the capital.
Our data has been used in annual reports and to inform specific lobbying campaigns to central government for transport investment. See here for more information.
