Digital Birmingham Case Making

Digital Birmingham Case Making

Digital Birmingham appointed us alongside Mott MacDonald and Hammonds to assist in the development of a business case for a new fibre-based super-fast broadband network on the edge of the City-Centre. The Digital Districts initiative is aimed to help grow and sustain the City’s base of SMEs and support the wider regeneration plans to double the size of the city-centre.

We were engaged to explore investment opportunities and to prepare bids for Regional Growth Fund, BDUK and ERDF. We provided the team with background material to support a State Aids request to the European Commission, analysed background data on economic conditions and generated estimates of the scale of impacts likely to be generated by the £20m initiative.

The business case is being used to stimulate investors’ interest and support within the City Council and will underpin a master plan for the wider roll-out of high speed broadband across the City.
